The Girls Chorus began in 1995 and is divided into two levels, the Resident Choir and the Touring Choir. The Resident Choir consists of girls in the fourth grade and older who meet weekly with Mr. and Mrs. Procter. Every spring semester they travel to sing lobby concerts at the Alabama Shakespeare Festival Theatre in Montgomery in addition to performing in the ACS winter and spring concerts. When a Resident Choir member displays the musical and developmental maturity required for traveling, she is invited into the Touring Choir which is also taught by Mr. and Mrs. Procter. The Touring Choir has sung at the White House, in Germany and Austria, and will sing on tour in Italy in 2010 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ACS.
